“I love my job because the coconuts remind me of Cuba and I get to make people happy every day. When they smile, it makes me smile. Life is good.”
Borrago’s story:
I moved to Miami from Cuba and I sell coconuts to people here on South Beach. I love my job because the coconuts remind me of Cuba and I get to make people happy every day. When they smile, it makes me smile. Life is good.
Nicola’s story:
My family is from Italy. I lived there until I was eighteen, then I moved to Milan and started working for a big company with boats. Then I went to Barcelona for a while, then Dominican Republic, London, and now I’m here in Miami. Getting these fresh coconuts on the beach reminds me of my time in the Dominican Republic. When I first saw them it gave me a familiar feeling in a foreign place, it made me so happy.
