June 22: Fourth Annual Immigrant Heritage Month Brings New “I Am An Immigrant” Campaign to Atlanta

ATLANTA, GA – On Thursday, June 22,  “I Am An Immigrant,” along with the Latin American Association, Lambda Theta Phi, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice, will host a community celebration and photo shoot in honor of Immigrant Heritage Month at the Latin American Association at 2750 Buford Hwy NE in Atlanta from 6:00 – 8:00 PM ET. The pop-up event will feature cultural foods and music to celebrate Atlanta’s vibrant immigrant community, and their many contributions to the state of Georgia. Community members are also invited to participate in a photo shoot and share positive stories of immigration in America. The event is free and open to the public.

Immigrant Heritage Month is a month-long celebration highlighting the incredible contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make to our nation. New to Immigrant Heritage Month this year is the “I Stand With Immigrants” campaign, an initiative that provides avenues for allies to stand in solidarity with their immigrant employees, colleagues, constituents, neighbors, and friends. “I Stand With Immigrants” asks Americans to take meaningful action in support of immigrants, to share stories of the crucial ways that diverse communities enrich our society, and to join a growing coalition across the country to proclaim proudly that they stand with immigrants. The community photo shoot on Thursday, June 22, will help to build on this important message. Specific details are below and available at IAmAnImmigrant.com.
