The Food That Made Us | New York City Day 2

This June, I Stand With Immigrants is celebrating the ninth annual Immigrant Heritage Month by honoring the creativity, cultural expression, and community-building power of food, through The Food That Made Us Tour. We’ve teamed up with celebrated chefs – including Joanne Chang, Tom Colicchio, Byron Gomez, Christine Ha, and Hawa Hassan – to craft original recipes for some of their favorite dishes, inspired by their own immigrant heritage. At each stop, we’ll share the stories that went into each delicious bite – and the people and cultures behind them.

In addition to the amazing food truck we’ve put together with our partners at Roaming Hunger, we will also have a local food truck, Island Spice, joining us for the celebration. Come out with your family and friends for some FREE food and merch and JOIN US as we CELEBRATE IMMIGRANTS!
