I Am An Immigrant: Los Angeles Pop-Up!

Celebrate our shared immigrant experiences during Immigrant Heritage Month in June right here in Los Angeles!

At this Pop-Up, we are asking everyone to take concrete action in support of immigrants in Los Angeles, share stories of the crucial ways that diverse communities enrich our society, and join a growing coalition across the country to loudly proclaim that #IStandWithImmigrants.

Join local organizations and artists in different programs for allies and the immigrant community.

Friday June 16th

6:00pm-9:00pm: Taste of Los Angeles Opening Night Reading & Community Party! 

TASTE complimentary delicious foods reflecting the varied immigrant heritage of Los Angeles—food truck style.

HEAR the oral history and narratives of immigration in the United States featuring local actors and affected community members.

CELEBRATEImmigrant Heritage Month and enjoy an eclectic international music mix, with a guest DJ, breathe and dance in community!

Saturday June 17th

1:30 PM- 3:30 PM PT: Immigrant Heritage Month Community Luncheon! 

Join fellow Angelenos in kicking off the second day of celebrations with a community luncheon. Together we will build an #IStandWithImmigrants mural, eat foods celebrating LA immigrant cultures, hear from local leaders, and learn how YOU can support immigrants in your community. 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM PT: Refinery29 Immigrant Film Screening (Hors d’oeuvres Provided!)

A series of short films focused on immigration curated by Refinery 29. A Q&A will follow the screening, facilitated by Paola Mendoza.

7:00 PM- 8:00 PM PT: We Stand with Immigrants: A Conversation on The Power of Immigrants

An intimate interview with an artists and activists about the importance of culture work around immigrant rights.

8:00 PM- 9:00 PM Immigrant Comedy Hour!

Laughter is the best medicine. An hour showcase of various comedians whose sets are inspired by immigration.
